Hello! My name is Tara Wilson! I am a Jesus loving Mama of three and feel incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to serve the Cape Coral and surrounding areas as a Certified ISR Instructor! Like all ISR Instructors, my passion and my mission is to see that "NOT ONE MORE CHILD DROWNS."
While originally from Buffalo NY, I have lived in Florida for most of my life. My husband Brad and I met in Naples Florida, we have been married since 2003, and our three amazing children are Cole, Trey and Blaike. In addition to being a Certified ISR Instructor, CPR, First Aid and AED certified, I have a B.A. in Commercial Design and currently fill most of my day as a homeschool Mom to all three of my kiddos.
I first came across ISR about ten years ago, when my oldest was just over a year old. He was a very energetic and busy boy who had no fear of the water. Upon hearing of so many sweet lives taken from drowning in my area that year, I was determined to find a swim program that could give my child the skills to become a confident swimmer. At the time I had no idea what 'Self-Rescue®' swimming skills were, but when I came across ISR's website, I knew this was the program I was looking for. Through the years, all three of my children have become ISR graduates and love the water, my two oldest swim today in a competitive swim program. I have been an ISR parent and sat on the deck to watch all three of my children become ISR skilled swimmers. Through the years, I have research numerous other swim programs out there and can honestly say, I have not come across any other program with ISR's safety record, experience, and extensively, rigorous training and Instructor certification program. I have been tremendously blessed and impacted by this program and in the summer of 2017 decided to start the process to become a Certified Instructor!
It takes time and dedication for a child to become an aquatic problem solver and my aspiration is that you have an opportunity to share my children's experience. As I mentioned, ISR Instructors undergo intense training prior to becoming certified and are recertified yearly. We have continuous academic training which includes areas such as child psychology, physiological behaviorism and development, early childhood education, anatomy and physics. Our children are so precious to us and it is our job as parents to be diligent in keeping them safe. I look forward to working with each of your little ones and teaching them a love for the water as well as helping them develop very necessary swimming and self-rescue® skills!
